I don't know about you, but I go to a lot of events. Some of these are large conferences others are small gatherings of like-minded note investors.
The wonderful thing about each one of these events is that attendees get to follow the seventh principle of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People espoused by Stephen Covey. The seventh principle, as a reminder, is to "sharpen the saw".
Sharpening the saw means to continuously be learning and practicing what you learn. Doing this, you can come to know and experience different ways of approaching the same problem.
In my previous columns, “The Elephant In The Room", I talk about noticing and solving large problems in the note investment space. Sometimes, while we look at the large problems, we forget to address all the other parts of note investing. This industry sometimes takes a lot of hard work, sweat and tears to make the investments work.
I truly hope you gain a lot of information and find out different ways of solving the problems you may have with your own notes by reading this column every month. However, there is another way for you to get information that is critical, absolutely critical, in keeping up with new trends in the note investing space and meeting people who can help your journey go smoothly.
I’m talking about going to events.
In fact, I have an event that I will be speaking at coming up soon. I do so hope to see you there, and I look forward to meeting with those of you who are new to note investing and my column. I also can’t wait to reconnect with those of you whom I know on a personal level, too.
The next event that I am going to is Dawn Rickabaugh’s “Property & Paper Summit” on October 9 and 10. Known as the Note Queen, Dawn is a fantastic and smart note investor who teaches you how to cleverly position your note investments to create large returns with seller financing. Her goal: to help people unplug from Washington and Wall Street and be capable of creating financial solutions, just one Mom n' Pop to another.
I will also be giving a presentation at NoteExpo 2017. This convention is smart, savvy and really impressive. I’ve been on panels there, as well as an attendee, and always come away learning a new skill or sharing a skill I have worked on.
I really hope to see you there. Get a refresher on some of the topics we’ve discussed in the newsletters, or from some of my previous presentations, and of course get to know me!
If you want to go (and I strongly suggest you do it) go to this website for Dawn’s event.
I hope to see you there! Keep investing!
